Our holistic addiction recovery treatment approach includes an emphasis on diet and fitness to enhance each patient’s overall wellbeing.
The benefits of exercise in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction are numerous:
- Exercise releases feel-good endorphins which increase positivity and reduce depression and anxiety, both of which can lead to relapse.
- Frequent exercise gives the body the physical strength to overcome cravings for drugs and alcohol – it increases blood flow throughout the body and to the brain.
- Fitness also increases energy levels, motivation and mental alertness, while building muscles that have been underused.
